Sunway Malls celebrate Raya together with a Bunga-Bunga Raya theme

Recently, Sunway Malls reunited to celebrate the coming Aidilfitri with a stunning and magnificent flora-inspired campaign called 'Bunga-Bunga Raya' at Sunway Putra Mall. With the festive season coming to full swing, each Sunway mall is decked out in different species of flowers.
Each mall has their take on this year’s festivities with the unifying theme of celebrating the flowers of Malaysia; Hibiscus, Bougainvillea, Orchids, Geranium, Morning Glory and Jasmine. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, each flower has a symbolic meaning such as togetherness, celebration, forgiveness, hope, new beginnings and purity respectively.

To commemorate the holy month of Ramadhan, 35 underprivileged children from Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) were invited to be a part of the launch.
The event kick-started when the VIPs were invited to the stage to officiate the launch by pulling the levers and six flowers that represent each mall gracefully bloomed before the audience’s eyes.
“The theme ‘Bunga-Bunga Raya’ revolves around the different species of flowers - a symbolism of the many colours of Malaysia. Coming together to celebrate the festive seasons has always been Sunway Malls’ hallmark, as they embark to expand the footprint in key urbane markets and wishes to deliver unparalleled Sunway brand of mall experiences from each of the malls in these markets,” said H.C Chan, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Malls and Theme Parks.
The event continued with a traditional Joget Payung performance, followed by a Fashion Show that puts a highlight on a mix of Modern-centric fashion by renowned local designers such as Tom Abang Saufi, EMEL, Salikin Sidek, Variante, Petra, Ashura and Marks & Spencer’s latest Summer collection.
Immediately after that, a Lucky Draw session was held for public who attended the launch and seven lucky patrons walked home with shopping vouchers worth RM300 each, sponsored by the local designers.
Throughout the event, guests were entertained with a unique traditional Cak Lempong performance with modern twist songs. Guests also had an opportunity to learn Canting Batik and take home the masterpiece.
Duit raya and goodie bags sponsored by Krispy Kreme, Good2U and Daiso were presented towards the end of the evening, which brought joy of the underprivileged children.
Guests were adjourned to Pak Jen Gulai Panas Langkawi, Level 4 and were treated to a wholesome buffet spread for iftar.
'Bunga-Bunga Raya'
At Sunway Putra Mall, a visit to the mall will leave patrons mesmerised as the Main Concourse is festooned with Orchid blossoms which universally symbolizes love, beauty and forgiveness. Happening from 3 May – 16 June 2019, the mall is transformed into blossoming Orchid garden with larger than life birdcages placed around the fountain features in a garden setting, providing a picturesque backdrop for patrons. Visitors can take a stroll in the garden, feast their eyes on the green landscape, and enjoy the fragrance of flowers and birds chirping along the pathway. A complimentary photo booth area is available throughout the period for public to take as many pictures as they wish.
Indulge in lavish fashion styles by home-grown renowned fashion designers namely Tom Abang Saufi, VARIANTE, Salikin Sidek, PETRA, EMEL and Natasha Ameer at the Main Concourse (Ground Floor). Apart from that, check out the Aidilfitri Market located at the East Wing (Ground Floor) featuring fashion apparels and accessories by Rumah Kebaya Bangsar, Abas & Sal Batik and others. Also, there are bundles of handmade batik, exquisite souvenirs, decorative items and delights at Kraftangan Bazaar, East Wing (Level 2).
Get your hands on a wide assortment of top-notch local cosmetic products by Syed Dewa and NR Cosmetics at the Beauty Corner, West Wing (Ground Floor). Get acquainted with the Flower Market by Petals2U at the Main Concourse (Ground Floor), selling colourful and fresh blooms. The mall has lined-up several performances and activities during the festive season where patrons can look out for Arts and Crafts workshops, Arts by Kraftangan, Flower Arrangement Workshops and Fashion Shows by local designers on selected dates.
Throughout the Ramadhan period, patrons can enjoy “Let’s Eat, Jom Iftar” promotion where they can enjoy meals as low as RM10 which are offered by participating outlets such as Kaw Kaw Burger, Ayam Penyet, Lorong Seratus Tahun and more!
Shoppers are able to redeem a set of Raya Packets when they spend RM 250 (RM150 for HSBC Credit Cardholders and Sunway PALS Members) in two (2) receipts or a Raya Serving Dish OR a Pot of Orchids with a minimum spending of RM400 (RM300 for HSBC Credit Cardholders and Sunway PALS members) in three (3) receipts.

At Sunway Pyramid, Raya is celebrated in full bloom as it welcomes the festive season with a Bunga-Bunga Raya themed concourse.
Known as the “celebratory flower” in Malay, the hibiscus will be the central theme of the Orange Concourse on LG2 this Raya from now until 9th June.
The concourse is decorated in floral arrangements where shoppers can immerse in a journey through the unique indoor garden with five different activities, each representing a petal of a bunga raya that symbolises togetherness.
Sunway Pyramid also partnered the Naza Group to gift one lucky shopper a limited-edition Vespa. Complete the three activities at the concourse, scan a unique QR code to download the new Sunway Pyramid mobile app and register for the giveaway contest which ends on 9th June.
The first is snapping and sharing a creative photo on Instagram or Facebook at the Bunga-Bunga Swing. Shoppers can then complete four actions at the Hopscotch Play Area. The Blooming Floral Walk is also not to be missed; taking a walk through the blooming flowers here will also earn shoppers a petal.
Shoppers can also immerse in a unique interactive blooming garden and get creative by creating their very own flower show. The final petal is earned by taking a photo at the Floral Memory Lane photobooth.
For those who would like to bring home floral gifts and décor for the season, they can visit the Flower Market by FLEURS or try their hand at fun arts and crafts workshops taking place at the concourse on selected dates. Shoppers can tend to their very own mini garden by attending a flower decorative workshop on weekends.
To further sweeten the festivities, shoppers can treat themselves to some Royce chocolate and shoppers who spend RM500 in a maximum of two receipts (RM400 for HSBC credit cardholders) can redeem a jar of Yankee Candle at the concourse.

Sunway Velocity Mall has transformed into a suburban wonderland, furnished with a magnificent kampung house that is elegantly embellishment with giant colorful bougainvillea flowers that symbolises celebration, to brighten up the Main Atrium and to celebrate the month of new beginnings.
The mall has organized many Raya performances and workshops from now till 9th June for shoppers to enjoy the traditional celebration and culture of Hari Raya. There will also be two fashion runway competitions: Raya Kids Catwalk and Cultural Costume Fashion Runway, to showcase the unique cultural differences in Malaysia. Not only that, Sunway Velocity Mall has designed many educational workshops for kids during the school holiday period such as traditional crafts like DIY dancing puppets, Ramadan lantern making, DIY Slime and Lip Balm making.

By participating in the workshops and attending the meet and greets, kids are also able to collect stamps on their “My Little Adventure Passport” booklet given to them at the beginning of the campaign. Sunway Giza Mall presents a Bunga-Bunga Raya themed atmosphere with Morning Glory or Bunga Seri Pagi décor that represents new beginnings. Hari Raya Aidilfitri will not be complete without kuih muih, ketupat and satay ayam which will be served during the show case at the mall’s Centre Boulevard area.
Sunway Citrine Hub will be having Bunga-Bunga Melur (Jasmine flower) theme as part of their festive décor.
